Just as first responder technologies have evolved, medical technologies have evolved as well. Everything from how a hospital room is cleaned to how medication is administered. In today’s high tech world, everything is different.

This week, let’s take a glance inside of a hospital and how they use the newest technology to respond to an emergency.

A Firestorm of Brainstorming

A medical responder is faced with many challenges. Make a list of the possible situations – be expansive – which may come through the doors of an emergency room. Next, using your list and the above resources, explore recent technological and scientific advances involved in saving lives and determine how they may be used in medical emergencies.

Fire and Rescue Journal

Emergency rooms and hospitals come in all shapes and sizes, each embracing the newest technology of their choice. Create an advertisement to encourage someone to report to “your” emergency room based on the technology advancements in “your” facility. Use images, stats, persuasive language, testimonials, whatever you think will seal the deal.

BEST Connection

Just as first responders need supply kits to deal with the unexpected, what does your BEST team need in “your kit” to respond to the unexpected on Game Day? Identify items and construct emergency supply kits for the robot drivers, marketing presenters, display booth construction team, even for spirit and sportsmanship. Think outside the box – and get your kit together!

Community Connection

Invite a senior or recently retired medical technician to speak to your team of how technology has evolved since they began their career. Continue the discussion by predicting the advancements in emergency medical technology in 10, 20 and even 50 years from today.
