bESTology 2025- Lesson #6
Published by Gwynn on

Welcome to bESTology 2025 fACTOIDS
This mission will focus your thinking through interaction of AI and beginning to understand what Deep Learning and Neural Networks. Learning and using Machine Language will be one approach to use when having programs make logical decisions. Are you ready to begin the programming journey, create thinking programs integrating human interaction with the digital world? Let’s begin …
Lesson #6- “AI is not just a technological revolution; it’s also a revolution of ideas and creativity.” ~Robin Li, CEO of Baidu.
Mission six will have you using Machine Language and Neural Networks to begin understanding Deep Learning while using algorithms and the craft of debugging. With humans controlling the programming for technology, the design of the program, influence of thoughts and debugging behavior errors is a human task that digital devices demonstrate.
RESOURCES
Humans understand truth as real, factual, provable information. Every day humans have to make decisions and judgements about what is Truth, what is a Lie, what is Real, and what is Fake. How does thinking and beliefs impact the discovery of Deep Learning is a type of machine learning based on artificial neural networks in which multiple layers of processing are used to extract progressively higher level features from data
These thinking patterns also influence how products are designed and developed. Known by several different names, BEST identifies this method as the Engineering Design Process. Engineering Design Process is a mind-set method to identify steps for design and development for products and processes. The Engineering Notebook for your team should be designed using this process to share how your team has identified the steps to accomplish your goals and reflections on the development of your robot to solve the open-ended task for this year’s competition.

INQUIRY PROJECT Robin Li is a Chinese software engineer and company CEO. Learn about him and how he has impacted the technology we use today. Thinking about his quote at the beginning of this lesson, how will you share what you have learned about Machine Language and neural networks showing your creativity in your Engineering Notebook? How will this lesson support your team in being creative with your robot design, construction, and software design?
BEST IN YOUR COMMUNITY
Neural Networks are at work everyday in your community. How does your community interact with different types of Neural Networks and Machine Language models in society? Share your investigation in your Engineering Notebook.
